SIO-2 PLUS® is a natural, soft clay. Excellent for working with children. It is odorless, ready to use, environmentally friendly, made from natural ingredients. SIO-2 PLUS® air-dries rock hard, extremely strong, but not waterproof. It can be air-dried (approx. 2-5 days, depending on thickness) or oven-dried at approx. 100° to 110° C. (Only oven-dry the clay after it has been air-dried! Drying time in the oven is 1-2 hours, depending on the size of the workpiece.) After drying, SIO-2 PLUS® can be further processed or painted. It is ideal for children aged 3 and above. SIO-2 PLUS® is suitable for kiln firing up to 1000°C, turning terracotta. Due to ceramic shrinkage, the size of the object is significantly reduced. During firing, SIO-2 PLUS® clay releases smoke due to the combustion of organic matter. The smoke has an unpleasant smell and is released from 130°C. It is recommended to ventilate well or to plan for a good fume extraction system for the kiln.
