      Making your own paper

Papermaking is a traditional technique for creating new sheets of paper from a fiber pulp. Each sheet is a unique piece with a beautiful, natural texture. At the Swiss craft shop I AM CREATIVE, you can find materials for papermaking, conveniently ordered online and shipped within Switzerland.

      Paper pulp

Our paper pulpis the foundation for your handmade paper. It is mixed with water to create a fiber mash, known as pulp, and then formed into sheets using a deckle frame.

      How it works

      • Soak the pulp in water and mix it into a mash
      • Add the mash to a tub of water
      • Use a deckle frame to scoop up a thin layer of fibers
      • Place the sheet onto a cloth, press out the water, and let it dry

      Creative ideas

Add dried flowers, leaves, seeds, glitter, or some paint to the mash. This creates unique paper for cards, invitations, gift tags, or bookmarks. With seeds in the paper, you can even create greeting cards that can be planted.

      A project for children

Papermaking is an exciting project for children, school classes, and holiday programs. It clearly demonstrates how paper is made.
