• 1x instructions Instructions: Material preparation: paper-making screen, pulp, basin, container, blender or whisk, water, towels and accessories such as dried flowers If necessary, mix the pulp with shredded paper, cotton or eucalyptus cellulose. These influence the appearance and feel of the paper. Chalk powder makes the paper whiter. Gelatin can be used to smooth dry papers. Gelatin can also be mixed directly into the pulp, giving the paper strength and a slight silky sheen. Soak the mixture in a container filled with water (30 g cellulose in 1 liter). Use a blender or whisk to crush the resulting paper mass, also called pulp, into a fine paste. If desired, you can add gouache or watercolor paint, glitter, tea herbs, spices or coffee grounds. Fill the basin, which should be about twice the size of the paper-making screen, halfway with water, pour in the loosened pulp and distribute it evenly. 1 liter of pulp diluted in 10 liters of water makes an ideal mixture for making paper. The more pulp in the water, the thicker the paper will be. 10 g of pulp makes a thicker paper with a dimension of approx. 16 x 26 cm. Hold the paper-making screen firmly with both hands and push it vertically from the edge of the basin under the mixture. The shallower side of the paper-making screen should be on top when lifting. Lift the paper-making screen horizontally above the water and let the water drain well. Carefully turn the paper-making screen with the drained paper onto a spread-out towel and dab off the remaining moisture through the screen with another towel or sponge. Now carefully lift the paper-making screen. Ideally, let the paper dry overnight. Afterwards, you can smooth your papers between heavy books or with an iron on a low setting.
