You will need the following for this project:
Turning simple into unique
With just a few materials, simple white or light-colored porcelain tableware becomes something very special in no time. Whether it's a plate, mug, bowl, or cup, a little paint and your own idea create personal favorite pieces that are guaranteed to be unique. Perfect for a cozy Sunday afternoon, a creative break in between, or a crafting moment with your loved ones. This gives plain tableware a whole new look and, piece by piece, it becomes a one-of-a-kind item.
Showcasing your unique piece
You can use your hand-painted porcelain in many ways, for example as a jewelry dish, for fruit, or simply as a decorative eye-catcher. However, despite the food-safe lacquer on top, the painted tableware is generally not suitable for direct contact with food. (For instance, only paint mugs on the outside)
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1
First, sketch your design on paper and, if necessary, on the porcelain.
Step 2
Paint your design with acrylic paints. For good opacity, it is best to apply two coats.
Step 3
Let the paint dry and then apply food-safe clear varnish with a brush.
Step 4
Let the varnish dry for at least 24 hours & your personal one-of-a-kind piece is ready!
