Making an Advent calendar tree
Waiting for Christmas Day can feel like a very long time for children. To make time pass a bit faster and build up even more anticipation, this cardboard advent calendar tree is just the thing! Decorated with fun reindeer faces and colorful number stickers, this advent calendar makes the wait a little sweeter for the little ones.
Age: 4 years and up
Duration: 2 - 3 hours
Difficulty level: Easy
For this project, you will need:
Small but nice
Pack small surprises for the advent season into the decorated boxes. If you want to pack food items like sweets inside, make sure to place them in an additional wrapper so they don't come into direct contact with the paper. This keeps them fresh until they are eaten and avoids unsightly stains on the outside of the boxes.
Did you know?
For most, the advent calendar is just as much a part of Christmas as an advent wreath or a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. However, the advent calendar has not been around for all that long. It originated in Germany in the mid-19th century and spread from there to the rest of the world.
