Christmas Wreath with Dried Oranges

Hmm, what smells so wonderful here? It's our fresh wreath, lovingly adorned with dried orange slices. If you want to deviate a little from the classic red-green combinations of Christmas decorations, this idea offers a beautiful alternative in soft orange tones. This color brings warmth and natural elegance to the festive atmosphere.

The scent of oranges simply belongs to Christmas. Dried orange slices are not only enchanting decorations for wreaths or Christmas trees, but they can also add a festive touch to your Christmas cocktail. Whether as a garnish for a drink or as table decor, oranges exude the fresh scent of winter and festivity.

The wreath can be showcased in various ways: hung on the front door, it welcomes your guests with a Christmas flair, or it can adorn a window, allowing the winter sun to shimmer through the orange slices. It also makes a particularly beautiful table arrangement, adorned with four candles, as an Advent wreath. With dried oranges, fir branches, and perhaps a hint of cinnamon, a warm and festive atmosphere is created.

In addition to dried oranges, other natural materials like cinnamon sticks, star anise, or pine cones can be integrated into the wreath. These not only lend a rustic look but also intensify the Christmas scent. For an especially atmospheric touch, you can add small fairy lights or golden accents to make the wreath shine even brighter. This way, your wreath becomes a true highlight of your Christmas decor – individual yet classically festive.

Wash oranges thoroughly. Slice oranges about 4-5 mm thick.

Place the orange slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, making sure they do not overlap. Dry at 75°C convection for about 6 hours. Turn the orange slices approximately every hour. Afterwards, store the dried orange slices in a metal tin.

Cut two linen ribbons, each approx. 60 cm long.

Attach both linen ribbons to the metal ring. Tie a bow with the second linen ribbon.

Arrange the orange slices on the metal ring to see how many slices and what sizes are needed. Then, secure the orange slices to the metal ring with hot glue.
