Autumnal animals made of shrink plastic

Autumn mobile with fox, mushroom and forest motifs made from shrink plastic

With falling leaves and bright autumn colors, little autumn animals are moving into the craft room. You can use shrink plastic to create cute motifs like owls, hedgehogs, foxes, or squirrels, which are then assembled into a playful mobile.

Age: From 7 years

Duration: 1 - 2 hours

Difficulty level: Intermediate

For this project you will need:

Person drawing a bear motif on shrink plastic for an autumn DIY mobile
Finished autumn mobile made from shrink plastic with fox, hedgehog and nature motifs
Detail shot of an autumn mobile with fox, mushroom and colorful beads

Simple & creative

The shrink plastic is painted, cut out, and shrunk in the oven – creating sturdy, colorful mini creatures. Whether with colored pencils, felt-tip pens, or acrylic paints: everyone can design the animals just as they please..

A mobile to marvel at

Once the little creatures are finished, they are attached to a wooden mobile set or a metal ring using colorful threads or transparent strings. This creates a light, movable mobile that sways gently with every breeze and makes the autumn figures look alive.

Crafting together

The project is wonderful for cozy afternoons with children. From coloring to hanging, everyone can participate and contribute their own ideas.
