Crochet pattern: DIY stylish bag

Don’t be afraid of crochet; with just a few stitch types, you can reach your goal of crocheting your own bag simply and in a relaxed way. Start with a chain stitch foundation in the desired width of your bag. I am using 30 stitches + 1 turning chain here.

After that, crochet 4-5 rows of single crochet stitches until you have reached the desired width for the base of the bag. At the end of each row, take a turning chain stitch; this is not crocheted into after turning.

As soon as you have the desired width, crochet around the base. Crochet 2-3 stitches into each corner. At the end, join to the first stitch with a slip stitch.

It is best to mark the first stitch with a stitch marker now. Start with a complete round of single crochet stitches, working only into the back loop of each stitch. This will create a nice curve for the base of the bag's edge.

Now we begin to crochet upwards. Start with a chain stitch. Then work exclusively in half double crochet stitches: yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, pull up a loop. With 3 loops on the hook, pull the yarn through all loops.
